About Me

My name is Brandi Bentley. I’m 35 years old and have recently come through the saddest and most humbling time of my life.

The short, short version of my story:

  • At age 31, I suffered a miscarriage at 12 weeks followed by a year of infertility and recurrent early loss (chemical pregnancies).
  • Ongoing failure to produce a child was making me miserable, and after a lot of desperate searching and testing, I finally discovered that I had hidden infections. This was the last thing I expected.
  • I stopped TTC for some months to treat the infections, did a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy, used a mid-level Reproductive Immunology immune protocol
  • I got pregnant at home, the old fashioned way, immediately upon trying with my beautiful, healthy baby boy (who is almost 2 years old old now).
  • I recently repeated the protocol and am pregnant again with a second baby boy due in May, 2021.

Like so many women in this situation, I did a lot of research and went in circles before finding something that worked.

The things I uncovered on my journey were astonishing in their simplicity. Infections? Hidden or latent infections? A common, yet rarely discussed cause of infertility, miscarriage and recurrent pregnancy loss.

I kept thinking:

  • Why don’t more people know about this?
  • Why aren’t more doctors testing and treating for this?

I told myself:

  • If my pregnancy works out, if I have success and get my healthy take home baby, I will never, ever shut up about it. I will shout it from the rooftops and tell anyone who will listen.

So, here I am. If I could afford to, I’d buy billboards in major cities and skywrite this stuff. For now, I’ll blog, share research that I’m finding, and talk with anyone who is interested.
